Until I Get Over Myself
I’m sorry, but I’m just a wee bit livid right now. Excuse me while I work something out real quick.
Do I know how WordPress works? Yes. Did I see the little Microsoft Update tab show up down bottom on my task-bar? Briefly. Did I click on it to see what was up? Ka-duh, no. Did I think it would be a problem? Obviously Not. Have I configured my new laptop so that when potential issues arise I’ll be ready? Not completely. Does Microsoft believe that no one in their right mind would be trying to write a post at 3 o’clock in the morning on a Tuesday night Wednesday morning? Apparently. Did I take the time to hit “save draft” after I had typed my 567th word? no. Did Bill Gates give his staff permission to shut down my computer ALL THE WAY FROM REDMOND, WASHINGTON WHENEVER THEY FEEL LIKE IT!!!! Damn straight. Do I have anybody to blame but myself? I wish. Will I blame it on Bill Gates and the continuing effects of the ever increasing Military Industrial Complex anyway? Hell yes!
I guess you’ll have to wait a couple of more days to hear about my bad haircut.

As far as picking an evil master, I went with Bill Gates, too. Picking a Steve Jobs model is like wanting to drink champagne on a beer budget.

Really, who clicks on the microsoft tab anyway? And I go as far to to click later-later-later every time they want to shut me down. But, I’m guessing they didn’t give you a later option – sorry!
(NukeDad) That’s what threw me; that window usually pops up on your screen, this one stayed down bottom on my taskbar like a netflix pop up. Oh well, lesson learned for next time!

I think I would burn the laptop. Or run over it with my truck. I’d need instant gratification.
Then I’d wake up with no laptop and a flat tire from the laptop debrib left in my wake.
I guess it’s a ‘no-win’, brother. Sorry.
(NukeDad) Ha ha, Dang, Mr. Man! I’m glad I was able to restrain myself. It WAS hard, though. Now the wireless router? That’s another story; I’d use the truck and then go back over it with the lawnmower. Maybe even test the destructive powers of my new battery powered weedeater.

Hey, I know where the Microsoft campus is. I used to drive by there all the time when I lived in Redmond. Just in case you felt like taking a tour some time. Maybe leaving a note in the suggestion box.
I feel your pain. I’ve let that zap me a couple of times too. Now i use Word to write my stuff out first (it does autosave) before sending it off to post.
(NukeDad) Yeah, for some reason it didn’t autosave for me the other day; it has in the past. I really need to take an hour or so and dig down in this thing and see what’s going on. Happy Birthday you old fart!
