My wife and her dad danced to that song at our wedding...

Everyone balled...

(NukeDad) I'll bet. I have a feeling it will be played at weddings for years to come.

Damn you.

Cried like a little baby.

Looking for a 'unrecovered Daddy's girl' support group now.

Beautiful beautiful post. She will remember this forever.

(NukeDad) Thanks, Kelley. Hope things are getting better for you all down under; if it keeps up, you guys may need to change your name to California.

Wow. You have indeed set the bar very high. Very, very good for you! This is something your daughter will indeed treasure forever.

And next time, wear a cup.

(NukeDad) Actually, I'm going to request that they only have padded Hula Hoops next year. ;)

That is so sweet! I am a total Daddy's girl, I suspect that little cutie date of yours is too =).

(NukeDad) She was that night; then the next night I made her eat all of her vegetables. Back in the dog house for me.

Cool post. Cool dance. Wish they did something like that in my area. Uh oh, I think I just appointed myself to a committee that doesn't exist yet ...

If your daughter didn't think you were Dad of the Year before, I guarantee she does now.

(NukeDad) Actually, she thinks I'm a pretty poor Hula Hoop catcher. Hope you get that event up and running soon! You'll have a blast.

"There Goes My Life" from Kenny Chesney is the one that pulls my heart strings. My oldest knows that that's our song.

Great photos of you and the gang. Thanks for sharing...

(NukeDad) Thanks, Mike. You've obviously already been there; done that, I'm just starting out with it. Should be an interesting journey.

So, so precious!! And what a great dad you are! I know from personal experience that it is times like these that daughters remember so fondly. Wonderful pics!

(NukeDad) Thanks, Reagan. Hopefully these are memories that will last for both of us. I'm looking forward to next years dance, and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one....

Your father-daughter dance made me think of that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond, when Ray is slow-dancing with his daughter at a similar event (she must have been 9 or 10 at the time). The dance frames out what is largely a flashback episode about his little girl, then comes back again at the end to Ray and his daughter dancing.

She catches him staring off and smiling, and says (and I'm paraphrasing): "Daddy, you OK? Do you want to dance faster?"

And Ray replies, "No honey, I'm okay...it's going fast enough."

(NukeDad) No kiddin'. Time is flying by. It seems like just yesterday that I was still carrying her around and trying to decipher all of her baby words. Just hoping she doesn't grow too fast.

So, so sweet!! I gotta find a daddy/daughter dance for my troop to go to. And you know I love that song! Glad you two had such an awesome night, it's a memory she'll have forever.

(NukeDad) I got the idea for the video from you! It's a great song; very poignant. Can't wait to go again next year.
