Wow!! What an ordeal! I seriously think malpractice would have become a big part of my vocabulary after that. That guy shouldn't be able to practice medicine if he's going to overlook one of the basics like that! Glad you're ok now! (NukeDad) Thanks, Michele. Oh dear God, You couldn't made up a better story. If I wasn't scared of doctors at this point, after reading your story, well let's just say I'm going to just let this body fall apart on it's own. Yikes! I think you may have overlooked the obvious reason for your scary surgery though: a condition Stephen King would probably call Haunted Knee. In fact, the obvious next step would be pitching your story to King or whichever studio it is that makes Roger Corman Movies. Or maybe Fox. Whichever.

Anyway, the pitch: “Regular guy manages to misplace his ACL while playing dodgeball , then makes fateful decision to replace it not with his own tendons, but (dun dun, dunnnnn…) ‘cadaver tissue’… mayhem ensues.”

…Or maybe not. Either way, scary story; and for sure a cautionary tale about how casually surgery gets treated sometimes.

(NukeDad) I like the way you think, Evan. I’ve seen plenty of movies (Comedy and Drama) about donor parts effecting the recipient, and as near as I can figure, my ligament came from one really lazy person.

Boy am I glad that you didn't make it to the light! I bet the NukeFamily is too (depending on how well you are insured). Sorry that you went through this, but at least you got the sponge bath out of the deal. (NukeDad) If I had made it to the light, I have serious doubts that I would have fit through the TV screen; that's how they got Carol Ann in the first place-she was the only one who fit. (NukeDad) Actually, the game NukeMom and I play is called: “The Naughty Candy Striper and The Not So Reluctant Patient”. It’s a play in 2 acts. It’s supposed to be a 3 act play but, well, you know.
