Great that they are getting an education into the classics. Don't venture too far from the 70's and early 80's. Music went down right after "Video Kill the Radio Star." (NukeDad) The Buggles! Trevor Rabin and Geoff Downes-One went to join Asia and the other started writing Movie Soundtrack music. I've been pleasantly surpised with You Tube. There are songs that I've been looking for on Rhapsody that aren't available, but people have been posting videos from the early '80's on You Tube. I even found a video from a friend of mine from El Paso whose video won the MTV Basement Tapes; remember those? Mikes last blog post..The Pill

I should have also mentioned other good screamers like Ann Wilson: Crazy on You, Axl Rose on just about anything he does…my favorite is Patience…it’s a little more subdued. Also there should be a category for songs screwed up by the movies. I can’t believe anyone doesn’t immediately think of Reservoir Dogs when they hear “Stuck in the Middle with You” I used to half way like the song..now..not so much.

(NukeDad) How about Benny Mardones on Into the Night? Don’t forget Brian Johnson from AC/DC. TV can do the same thing to songs; All I Know by Art Garfunkel was used in a season finale of Nip/Tuck that was mind blowing.

I’m so glad to see that you are introducing the little Nukes to fine culture. Mine are starting to get more exposure. The two big ones are into country, so I pulled out all the oldies I have on CD from Time Life Music. Nothin like Lifting “16 Tons” or heading “North, to Alaska” before the “Battle of New Orleans” while on your “Convoy” with the Rubber Duck. We’re working on introducing some of the good rock from the 70s and 80s as well, but the going is slower. What can I say, it’s Alabama and the only clear stations are country stations around here.

(NukeDad) Wow. Those bring back some memories! How about Tom T. Hall? “I Like Beer”, “Old Dogs, Children & Watermelon Wine”. Great; now I’ll be on Rhapsody and You Tube the rest of the night!

Nukeboy2 is probably on to something. Could very well be that some 48-year-old groupie still has Roger Daltrey's uvula at home in a jar of formaldehyde after he launched it across the audience during that tour. (NukeDad) I think he actually lost it on track 1 (Baba O'Riley) and that allowed him the ability to unload on track 9 (Won't Get Fooled Again).
