I love the part about Stuckey's. That brought back memories. They used to be more of them out west, but I haven't seen one west of New Mexico for years.

Love the photos. Looks like a great time was had by all...

(NukeDad) I used to see Stuckey's signs about every 1/10th of a mile when we used to drive through New Mexico. Once you hit Arizona it's; "The THING!" billboards that assault your senses.

Man oh man I am craving BBQ now. I'm going to have to go home and fire up the Weber after work. Ribs maybe?

How about this one "over the teeth and through the gums, watch out stomach, 'cause here it comes."

(NukeDad) That was one of my Dad's favorites. If someone asked if he wanted more and he was full; he'd say: "I've had sufficiency and abundance."

It prefers to be called pigmentally-challenged BBQ sauce! What in the world do they make pigmentally-challenged BBQ sauce with/from? I interviewed at both Tennessee and Oklahoma for grad school and both were beautiful. That is when I discovered that the south doesn't believe in cold cereal for breakfast, I was so lost when I had to try and find something to eat in the morning. If I ever visit the south again there will be at least one box of cereal in my luggage. Tennessee just about made up for it by having that delicious concoction sweet tea, mmmmm. Glad you had fun!

(NukeDad) The white sauce is mayo, vinegar and spices (secret ingredient!). Sweet tea is the bane of my existence. The first time I ordered "UNSWEET" tea they looked at me like I was a leper.

Rocky top, you'll always be home sweet home to meeeeeee.........

Although Chicago is my hometown, I lived in Knoxville (Foothills of the Smokeys!) for 6 years. I even discovered and stalked my husband there, in high school. It is truly beautiful country there.

There is someone who lives in my neighborhood here, in the Chicago suburbs, who has a huge birdhouse in her backyard. The birdhouse roof is black and says, you guessed it, "SEE ROCK CITY." I can't get away from those signs!

And go, Aunt Betty Jo!

(NukeDad) My neighbor has the same birdhouse. I've been to Knoxville as well and you're right, the whole area is beautiful.

Right in my own hometown no less. Glad you had a good time and hope you got a chance to see the sights around town.

(NukeDad) Will, the kids got to go to the space center. Nukeboy2 was ecstatic cuz he got his picture taken next to his favorite plane EVER; the SR-71 Blackbird. We ate at Lee Anne's, I think it was called? Very impressed with the whole area. We'll be back.
