Wow, now I'm extra famous! Eukaryote is a great word, I work with prokaryotes myself but happen to be quite fond of several eukaryotes. And so you don't have to read through the likely excessively wordy definition, a prokaryote is a cell that lacks a nucleus and other "cell organs" (organelles, aka the complex cell structures) in its cell goo.

Thanks for the awesome plug for my humble little blog,
Karen

And my wife said that if I stared at the computer too long that my mind would melt or warp. Who says you can't get educated in cyberspace. I'm a Wednesday (Thursday?) Big Word follower now...

(NukeDad) What can I say? I'm an educator; it's a calling.

This being post #98, was very cromulent. I totally love made up words, like Gianormous!

(NukeDad) Me too, I think they're tripindicular.

These posts remind me of Cliff from Cheers. Seems like the kind of words he would pull out and use incorrectly (which is what I would do if I even tried to pronounce one).

(NukeDad) Funny you should say that, Momo, it's a little known fact that........

Hurray, you used "cromulent!" My pride is embiggened. I'm surprised the link provided on the word meaning doesn't mention that the word was made up specifically for The Simpsons. I use it in conversations all the time. nobody ever complains.

(NukeDad) Actually, the wikipedia entry did give the Simpsons some props. For embiggened also.
